DIGITAL SOLUTION “EDUPERFORMANCA” LAUNCH EVENT

Open Data Kosovo in cooperation with Girls Coding Kosova within the Tech4Policy project funded by the European Union Office in Kosovo has launched the “EduPerformance” platform for three (3) municipalities in Kosovo. This digital solution was developed by 9 young women of the Tech4Policy project in order to evaluate course performances in high schools in 3 municipalities – Viti, Kamenica, and Klina.

Through this piloting platform, pupils will have a digital tool through which they can freely express their thoughts on certain classes in the respective municipalities. Moreover, a lot of data will be released through which the general public can learn more about the respective schools development. Part of the networking event of this platform were also the Mayors of Kamenica and Viti. The Mayor of Kamenica Municipality, Mr. Qendron Kastrati emphasized that this a really good initiative which will enable them as a municipality to take into consideration pupils reviews on the performance of education, how accurate the professors are, professors assessment procedures, professors behaviors towards students and whether international education standards are applied. Additionally, the Mayor of Vitia Municipality, Mr. Sokol Haliti emphasized that he has engaged the Directorate of Education and School Directors to address the data and the reports raised by students. He then continued by stating that they are working closely with youth centers and student councils to fill in the platform and receive as much data as possible. During this project, 250 young girls from all municipalities of Kosovo have been engaged and have developed digital solutions that contribute to the active citizenry and engagement of the community. These young girls are trained in the field of ICT and in order to contribute to their potential future employment, ODK invited over 25 local private companies operating in the ICT field. Girls had the opportunity to meet with these companies representatives and talk about cooperation opportunities.
