IMPROVING GOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY AND BUSINESS PRACTICES THROUGH OPEN DATA

This project’s aim was to foster openness of business information in Kosovo with a view to contributing to fair business environment and improving transparency and accountability of public institutions. The goal was to understand the benefits of open business data, and support adoption of open business data standards as a way to improve economic and business decision-making in Kosovo; empowering journalists and civil society to conduct analysis and derive insights by using and linking business data and employing modern data analysis tools and techniques while encouraging more active citizen participation through provision of accessible and human-friendly information through linkages between business and politics. The project also provided support for the efforts aiming to overcome corruption by linking business information to public procurement, asset declaration data, and politically exposed persons.
