“Understanding Government: Improving Institutional Transparency and Accountability Through Open Data” is a project funded by the Balkan Trust for Democracy and implemented by Open Data Kosovo.
This project aims to equip citizens, civil society, and the media with the necessary tools to leverage open data for increasing transparency and accountability of public institutions and fostering citizen engagement in policy-making. This is done through a series of workshops with government officials, technical support to public data release and use by public institutions, and data usage trainings for journalists. All of these activities are designed as an integrated strategy aimed at improving institutional transparency and accountability in Kosovo through fostering the ability of government officials, civil society, citizens, and media to understand and productively utilize public data.
